Let me tell you first of all, it doesn�t matter what is on your credit report, but how it was put there. Basically it is the credit reporting agencies who are breaking the law by not following the laws and guidelines that were written in the Fair Credit Reporting Act. There are over 300 laws, rules and regulations that they must abide by in order for even one item entered on your credit report to be legal. They get over 2 million entries per day and they don�t have the software or the manpower to do it properly, and basically they have been getting away with it for so many years, that they just don�t care. The law states that if even one of these guidelines is found to be broken, the item must be promptly deleted from your credit report, therefore your credit score goes up! They cannot just fix it and put it back on�it is kind of like being tried twice for the same crime. The only way they can put it back on is�for example�let us say you owe a credit card $3,000 and they sell it to a collection agency, the collection agency can then put it back on in their name.
