1995 was another great year for canned cold drinks which continued to dominate the world of vending. Total dollar sales increased about 2.7% and 100,000 more machines were placed. Perhaps you have seen the barrage of new attractive drink machines in front of supermarkets and other public retail outlets screaming for your dollar.
Hanna has learned of a growing demand for multi packaging in vending beverages up to and including 20-oz. plastic bottles. Relatively few such machines reached the field last year and we are yet to determine the consequences of such minimal demands. With approximately 1,800,000 canned beverage vending machines on location doing approximately $11,215,000,000 annually, it will take a lot of changes to make an impact on our market place.
