Online Poker – Key Differences

Online poker is simply the game of online poker played via the Internet. It has in a very short time become one of the largest growing games on the internet. It was partially responsible for the massive rise in the total number of online poker players all over the world. With the growth, there has also been an increase in the various online poker websites where players can register to play poker.

There are many key differences between playing poker over the net and playing in person. The first main difference is that in online poker, the playing will happen virtually at any location and at any time, all you need is a computer with an Internet connection and you are all set to play. In playing poker in person, the whole experience is a lot more different because there needs to be some form of accommodation apart from your home or a room where you are allowed to relax and play your favorite game. In addition to that, you also need to go to a certain place and stay for the duration of the tournament or the length of the matches. This is not the case in online poker where you can play from any place that you want as long as you have an Internet connection and a computer.

Another key difference is that in playing online poker, you are allowed to play a maximum of five hands per hour. This is way less than the ten hands that one is allowed to play per hour in a traditional brick and mortar casino. Online players also play for longer periods of time compared to the one hour duration of playing in the traditional brick and mortar casinos. The overall result is that playing online poker is much more enjoyable and relaxing than playing it in real life.
